The PV Logic 200w Solar Panel Kit also comes supplied with a 15amp MPPT (Maximum power point tracking). Charge Controller which increases panel efficiency, protects the battery from being overcharged and also prevents reverse current drain.

What is an MPPT Controller?

An MPPT, or maximum power point tracker, is an electronic DC to DC converter that optimizes the match between the solar array (PV panels), and the battery bank in your campervan, caravan or motorhome. To put it simply, they convert a higher voltage DC output from solar panels down to the lower voltage needed to charge batteries.

What output can I expect?

During summer in the UK we expect 4-6 hours of peak power (where the panel is producing close to its maximum output). During the winter in the UK its about 2-3 hours.

eg. Summers day can produce 200w per hour for 4-6 hours generating around 800w-1200w.
